Even after changing Graphics to Fast, reducing rendering distances and turning off smooth lighting, my fps stays the same at around 20-30fps. I downloaded Optifine, turned off all particle effects, reduced GUI scale, disabled all my details, lowered everything in the Quality tab, and still, my fps stays roughly the same. To be more specific, it's basically stuck around 21-27fps, no more, no less.
Now here's the weird part.
I switched everything to fancy, enabled everything around quality, disregarded performance, even set my rendering distance to MAX, as Optifine labels it - Ludicrous. And yet my fps stagnates itself at around 21-27. Bear in mind that I did both comparisons in the same world, which is preset to Redstone Ready. So it's a flat, empty world, which nothing but sandstone. I made my player model run a couple laps and my fps stays roughly the same too.
And now for the part that makes me really mad...
My fps limit is Unlimited and it always has been. One thing that I've noticed is that my fps gets significantly high every time I alt-tab into Minecraft, but then it goes back down to my regular fps of 21-27. I noticed this as my gameplay becomes temporarily smoother. I left F3 on and I saw that it went up to ~200fps, before going back down 3 seconds later...
Not only does 30fps and below look terrible, I'm just really annoyed that all of my efforts have failed and that my PC can actually run Minecraft a lot better. Please help me out guys.
