It's been like this for nearly 2 years. I've been trying to run old versions of Forge with the corresponding Minecraft versions, but it always crashed before it even launched. I tried playing vanilla instead and seemed to work fine, but I stopped playing since. I tried again today with the latest versions but it still doesn't work. Now I tried running vanilla and now even that doesn't work. I press Play, the launcher closes, and a second later it opens back up with a crash report. I don't know what to do anymore.
This is the crash report I got after I tried running vanilla:

Have you tried an older version? They have massively increased the system requirements since 1.8; for example, these are the minimum requirements for 1.6:
Last Updated: Jul 06, 2013 11:47PM CEST
Minimum Requirements:
CPU : Intel P4/NetBurst Architecture or its AMD Equivalent (AMD K7)
RAM : 2GB
GPU : Intel GMA 950 or AMD Equivalent with OpenGL 1.2 Support
HDD : At least 90MB for Game Core and Sound Files
Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 or up is required to be able to run the game.
Somewhat newer requirements from early 2014, likely in preparation for the release of 1.8, which significantly increased the requirements (these are about what the previous recommended requirements were):
Last Updated: Feb 20, 2014 07:46AM CET
Minimum Requirements:
CPU: Intel Pentium D or AMD Athlon 64 (K8) 2.6 GHz
RAM: 2GB
GPU (Integrated): Intel HD Graphics or AMD (formerly ATI) Radeon HD Graphics with OpenGL 2.1
GPU (Discrete): Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT or AMD Radeon HD 2400 with OpenGL 3.1
HDD: At least 200MB for Game Core and Other Files
Java 6 Release 45
Otherwise, the issue is that your graphics card is not supported by Windows 10 and no version of the game is likely to work due to the basic default drivers not providing the necessary OpenGL (many people just update without checking to see if their computer actually meets Windows 10's requirements; the only solutions are to downgrade or get a new computer/hardware).

I appreciate any possible help
Follow the instructions here http://hopper.minecraft.net/help/pixel-format-not-accelerated/support/
Alright, I got the link of the crash report, but I didn't really understand what to do next.
That's not a crash report, it's a dxdiag log, explained in the article. The article also tells you to give us a link to your dxdiag.
Ahhhhh I see. Sorry.

Your computer does not meet Minecraft's system requirements https://help.mojang.com/customer/en/portal/articles/325948-minecraft-java-edition-system-requirements
Is it really possible for my computer to suddenly not support the game?

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
