I'm making a world on single player that I'm planning on uploading to my server when I started getting really big, annoying lag spikes when placing and breaking blocks. I am working on this world in the void at y 100.
As you can see at the bottom of this forum, he found out that the issue was the lighting. For me, this is really annoying because I need to make a very large island high in the sky. I don't really like downloading mods (such as optifine), resource packs, etc because I find them confusing and every time I've tried to do something like that I just end up getting frustrated because it doesn't work.
Do you guys have any ideas how I might be able to fix this problem? Is there anything in settings or with commands that I can do to fix the problem?
That modpack is very large and you do need alot of ram, i tried it at the default for the twitch launcher (4GB) and was getting lag stuttering it finally stopped when i went upto 6GB
I use vanilla Minecraft I don't have any mods. Besides this problem only recently started occurring and only happens in this void world.
Hello Everyone!!
I'm making a world on single player that I'm planning on uploading to my server when I started getting really big, annoying lag spikes when placing and breaking blocks. I am working on this world in the void at y 100.
I did some surfing and found this forum:

Post a screenshot with F3 enabled and your JVM arguments.

Sorry I should have specified. I was just surfing around looking for anything and that's what I found.
Hi JVM Arguments:
-Xmx2G -XX:+UnlockExperimentalVMOptions -XX:+UseG1GC -XX:G1NewSizePercent=20 -XX:G1ReservePercent=20 -XX:MaxGCPauseMillis=50 -XX:G1HeapRegionSize=16M
This is an old issue with MC's light updates, relevant bug report https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-11571
Ok thanks for this. Do you know by any chance if this bug is going to be fixed in 1.13, or if there's any other way around it?
The bug is unresolved still. As a workaround I suggest not to use a world where the ground is 1 high and at 100 altetude.
Ok. Thanks heaps.
