I am having the most weird problem I have ever encountered in my 7yrs of playing Minecraft. I am trying to setup a LAN between my wife's windows 8.1 laptop and my windows 10 laptop. I've tried to start a LAN server on both our systems and when we goto the multiplayer its not showing anything. I've done LAN between other systems like my mothers Laptop and my friends but for some reason were not able to see each other.
THINGS I HAVE ALREADY TRIED
#1 I've attempted to use Hamatchi and a server, it still wont show up on her end.
#2 I've gone thru all of the firewall tutorials on youtube and done them all! (Funny story, when I add java and minecraft launcher as "public" thru my firewall and the go into the game to launch LAN it still doesn't show up, but when I go back to the firewall settings it has DUPLICATED all the java's and the minecraft launcher) WHY!!??
#3 I tried to go into the command prompt an take the IP address and combine it with the LAN 62666 thingy - 192.000.0.5:62666 for example and its still not connecting, it times out.
I honestly cannot figure this problem out. I find it really strange also that its somehow multiplying in the firewall...
hello, maybe you deleted important files to eliminate the only solution are to erase all Minecraft (save important data shaders, mods, textures, masks, etc.) and reinstall minecraft and it should work, I am waiting to solve this problem and
Hi guys,
I am having the most weird problem I have ever encountered in my 7yrs of playing Minecraft. I am trying to setup a LAN between my wife's windows 8.1 laptop and my windows 10 laptop. Anyone have any solutions?
I would greatly appreciate the help.
Thanks guys
Matt.

I hope it works for you BYE ...
No, its not cause of deleted files. thanks tho.
to make a lan server, you need to
1 start a world, press escape and click open to lan
2 choose your option, default gamemode and is command allowed
3 stay in the world, with the other computer, go into multiplayer and go to the bottom of the page, and wait a bit.
Ps : you need to be connected to the same wi-fi/ethernet
