Hello. I am having issues with installing minecraft after a lengthy break. Downloading the launcher works fine, but when it comes to downloading the actual game, I constantly get stuck on "downloading cloth1.ogg..." followed by the error below:
I have tried multiple other fixes found on the forums to no avail.
I am running Windows 7, and can likely find any other technical specs you need.
Thank you for your help.
I should note that the file path appears to be wrong, as C:\Users\SALBAS~1 should read C:\Users\SALBASTRO and I have no idea why it did this in the error message
Say something silly, Laugh 'til it hurts, Take a risk, Sing out loud, Rock the boat, Shake things up, Flirt with disaster, Buy something frivolous, Color outside the lines, Cause a scene, Order dessert, Make waves, Get carried away, Have a great day!
is there... actually a tilda in your username? windows let you get away with that?
Did... Did you even read the full post? I said:

did YOU read your post? your log has a tilda, doesn't matter if you don't know why it is there, Java sees it there. and that is most likely what is causing this based on the log you provided. you can try setting minecraft to use another directory that isn't in your user folder

Checked that already, no known conflicts. I checked Mojang help before posting here

Run a scan with adwcleaner.
Still nothing.

Having special characters in your windows username, or an exclamation mark at the end, breaks Java's ability to work with files needed for Minecraft.
See this: http://hopper.minecraft.net/help/special-characters/
