With the recent release of Java 10, I've figured I might try it to lessen the garbage collection lag that I've been experiencing. I've tested it with vanilla 1.7.10 and it works well but when it launches Forge, it crashes without a log. I feel there's no real need to include my modpack or anything of the sort since it doesn't even get far enough to load them. I've turned off Java launch arguments and it still has the same bug. Is there a workaround or am I stuck on the Java version installed with Minecraft until Java 10 updates and this fixes (if ever)?

yes, you are stuck with java 8, because java 9 is buggy with minecraft, so java 10...
So I guess I'm going to go study up on reducing the intrusiveness of garbage collection.
