Ever since I fixed a problem where Minecraft would crash after launching the game or loading a world, Minecraft has started lagging whenever I use shaders and resource packs (even 32x packs). I used to be able to run the game with shaders without problems. I haven't changed any components in my computer or any graphics card settings. Help?
what was the problem you fixed and how did you fix it. what mod are you using to load the shaders, what version of minecraft are you using, which shader are you using.

The problem that I had where Minecraft would crash when loading a world kind of fixed itself when I tried using the old launcher, then going back to using the new one because of the lag that started. I use optifine to load the shaders on 1.12.2. I am using Ebin Master shaders and also the John Smith Legacy resource pack.
*I am also using the most recent java
*also ever since this problem started minecraft has been crashing whenever I tab out of the game while on the menu screen

That sounds like the kind of issue you get when there is a driver problem, visit your graphics card manufacturers website and see if they have an update

I don't know what I did, but it's a lot better now??? I'm getting 15 fps instead of 2 when using shaders. It's still not as high as it used to be, but much better. I think the thing that fixed it was me resetting all video settings and then restarting the game.
*John Smith is still not running too well, it's probably just the resource pack itself.

Turn down shadow resolution in your shader pack, it'll help

I found out that the problem isn't with my hardware, but it is with my game. I loaded a mod using the technic launcher (which re-downloads the game, it doesn't use the same files), and shaders on it worked very well, without lag. Any other ideas on what the problem might be?

I allowed my game to use 4G of ram instead of one and I am updated to the most recent version of java. I still get the exact same fps as I did before. I found out that 16x resource packs are fine and run up to 200 fps, but when I switch to 32x my fps drops down all the way to 1 or sometimes 0.
Also, sorry it took me some time to respond. I didn't receive a notification.

Having the game crash when I tab out in the menu is fixed, but I still have the lag. If this helps, here are my JVM arguments -

Runs at the same FPS when at lowest shader quality that it does when at highest... strange...

try allocating more RAM to minecraft. I know technic launcher starts with mor ram than regular mc
As I recall it also uses a different version of java, try updating and make sure Minecraft is actually using it

Still having the problem, tried completely uninstalling the game and reinstalling it, didn't help. If this helps, here are my specs -
