During my computers daily three hour StartUp Crash cycle, one of my Minecraft worlds has completly disappeared. Is there a chance of ever getting it back again? I'm about to completly uninstall it for good.
If the files are gone, but you know (or can work out) the file names, it might be possible to use file recovery software….
[The file recovery program and any new files it is creating need to be on a seperate storage device toavoid the possibility of the recovery file overwriting part of the lost original it is intended to recovery.]
This can be very problematic as (once the folder & files are considered deleted by the operating system) those disk sectors can be reused.
The most probable outcome is that the world is gone for good; an unpleasantly sharp lesson in the need for regular backups and the vagaries of operating systems

WARNING: I have an extemely "grindy" playstyle; YMMV — if this doesn't seem fun to you, mine what you can from it & bin the rest.

Thanks for confirming. Will probably uninstall because it's just a waste of hard-drive space now.
