I've just installed minecraft and haven't been able to get it to load. The game menu loads and then immediately stops responding. When I close the window I get the message "Java SE binary is not responding".
I'm running windows 10, latest Java 10. I've also installed the last JDK as suggested in another thread as well as using the alternative launcher.
Likewise the the minecraft game output gets down to "Narrator library for x64 successfully loaded" and stops without giving me any actual error information. Is there an actual error log file somewhere? Help is appreciated.

Probably should have listed hardware.
GTX950m (already tried the java fix for the driver but it's no longer available)
i7 5700 2.7GHz
8 gigs ram
I've also gone ahead and installed java se 8u172 and checked to make sure minecraft is running on the correct graphics card. Still no change.
so far i've tried various combinations of uninstalling, repairing minecraft (with a fresh downloaded copy) along with uninstalling and reinstalling java (and jdk) along. Waited 20 minutes at one point and same error. The java SE goes unresponsive as soon as the actual game comes up.
Edit Update: So I'm able to get it running if I run as Admin. Not sure why my user who has admin privileges isn't able to run it but I'll chalk it up to windows 10

-Try waiting for awhile to see if it ever loads
-Repair Minecraft (Go to the installer file when you download MC and click on "Repair")
-Reinstall Java
