Yesterday I tried to open the game (vanilla, version 1.12.2) and it wouldn't create the new world. The PC would freeze in the "building terrain" screen and I'd have to either turn it off or wait a couple of minutes to be able to shut down the java process. It would consume up to almost 100% of my ram memory (12gb).
I've reinstalled java 2 times, im currently on version 8 update 161.
Tried running the old launcher, but it doesn't even launch minecraft. Reinstalled minecraft, deleted the .minecraft folder in appdata.
Also i've updated my graphic driver. AMD Radeon HD 6800.
Through this process there were times in which minecraft menu wouldn't even show up, but my main problem that I can't fix is that the actual game won't start, I get stuck at Loading world forever and my PC just gets slower and slower until it crashes.
I've spent my sunday trying to fix this, I won't give up hahah
version 1.12.2 of minecraft. are you asking about the launcher version? I just redownloaded and reinstalled everything so it should be the latest (same for java)
I don't have a lot of space, only 100gb left, I will do some cleaning but I don't think this is the problem.
how do I limit the use of ram for 4gb? I've read somewhere that I can do this in the launcher, create a new profile and change the JVM arguments, but it didn't solve for me.
Say something silly, Laugh 'til it hurts, Take a risk, Sing out loud, Rock the boat, Shake things up, Flirt with disaster, Buy something frivolous, Color outside the lines, Cause a scene, Order dessert, Make waves, Get carried away, Have a great day!
I did the -Xmx4G in the JVM arguments, and changed java runtime from "javaw" to "java". I had tried this before, but it didn't work, now it worked, i don't know why but I'm happy
Thanks

Use -Xmx4G in your JVM arguments.
