So I've been trying to play the Space Astronomy pack in the past few weeks. Normally I get around 60fps. I'm getting really bad freezes/frame drops whenever I open an inventory of any kind. Disabling NEI completely solves the problem, but NEI is pretty much needed when playing modded. Usually right when I open my world the lag is only a few milliseconds, but after 5-10 minutes of playing it grows to be 3-4 seconds or more every time. I've tried everything I could find on the internet related to NEI lag to no avail. I'm wondering if anyone else is having this problem or if anyone has a solution? My basic system specs are:
Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 16299) (16299.rs3_release.170928-1534)
Processor: AMD Ryzen 3 1200 Quad-Core Processor (4 CPUs), ~3.5GHz
Memory: 16384MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 16314MB RAM
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050
I'm running the modpack using MultiMC. I have 4gb RAM allocated and I'm using Java 8. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I've just checked and it seems the CPU usage of java at the time I open the inventory goes from about 25% to 38%. But the overall CPU usage doesn't go over 60%. Could my processor just be too slow?

NEI does have some memory leaks, have you tried updating it?
Would I want to update to the newest version? Or just the most recent 1.7.10 version? The pack is in 1.7.10 by the way.
newest stable for 1.7.10
That is the one that's already installed so I removed it and added a fresh copy again and I'm still having the same issues
