So I finally purchased minecraft today and what a disappointment and apparent complete waste of money. I cant use it. My computer lags so bad I just had to shut it down. I tweaked settings hoping it would help but nothing did. What an awful experience. I have not had problems running any other games or software ever. I hope there is something that can be done to fix this. Any suggestions? Please help.

Sorry I'm not too computer savvy. I don't understand how to "spoiler it up" so i did not paste the whole log. I read in another thread something about using f3 but when i press f3 nothing happens.
I read in yet another thread about Optifine. I downloaded it but i have no idea what to do with it.
have you tried any older minecraft versions? notably, try 1.7 and if it doesn't lag try 1.8. if 1.8 lags, but not 1.7, it's a RAM issue (because mojang thought a class to manage 3 integers was a good idea.)

That could be part of the problem. Edit:
Here are the Minecraft system requirements (minimum)
VIDEO CARD: Integrated: Intel HD Graphics 4000 (Ivy Bridge) or AMD Radeon R5 series (Kaveri line) with OpenGL 4.41Discrete: Nvidia GeForce 400 Series or AMD Radeon HD 7000 series with OpenGL 4.4
FREE DISK SPACE: At least 1 GB for Game Core and Other Files
I tried running it on another system that has a 2.7 ghz processor and 6 gb ram and got the same results.
The worst computer I ever played Minecraft on at a playable state was a laptop with an i5 processor running at 1.8 GHz, and Intel HD Graphics (Which every single computer up until my newest one has had lol), so unless that computer also had an i3 processor AND NO GPU, then I don't know what to say.
The only thing I can think of is to do at least one of the following: Dedicate more memory to Minecraft (Since you only have 4 GB of RAM, dedicate 2. If you don't know how to do this, there are plenty of tutorials on Youtube), Install Optifine (It usually makes Minecraft run better, but not always.), or buy a better computer with the minimum requirements (If you can't afford to buy one up-front, you'll probably want a "Buy-now-pay-later" site like QVC. You pay the same amount each month for about 4-6 months, but I still only encourage you to do this if you 1. Really want to play Minecraft, and 2. Nothing will work)
ok so i dedicated more ram and that was a step in the right direction. i'm going to try to figure out optifine next. Thank you Stone Miner !! It is still lagging but not quite as bad as it was.

As far as I know, that GPU should work fine, but don't even think about using shaders.

I have not tried any other versions. Would i have to pay for those versions too?
No. Once you buy Minecraft you can play all versions since the alpha stage.
