Help! I've been playing on the historical version of minecraft using the new launcher, but none of my sounds work. Another issue I've found is that I can't add texture packs. I've tried purging my minecraft files and downloading only the historical version (using beta 1.4_01, but all of the alpha/beta versions don't work) Someone help! I've been searching a plethora of forums for solutions for days now, and registered to this site just for responses.
UPDATE! After posting this ive finally found a good download version for my textures (doku ofcourse), but still no sound!

ModeratorUse the old launcher. The new launcher has sound issues with old versions. This has been pointed out many times in threads just like this one.
my computers sound still works, old launcher sound dosent work.
