On the originating PC, start single player MC game, then from menu, choose "Open to LAN"
On the joining PC, make sure it runs same exact version of MC, start game, choose multiplayer, and it should automatically scan your network for instances of MC running, and show the world running on originating PC. You select that and click 'join server'.
Now where is it failing exactly? Please be specific.
If it does not show any LAN worlds, and times out looking for them, you could try direct connect.
On originating PC, in start menu search bar, type 'cmd' to run a command window. In there, run ipconfig. It will show 'IPv4 Address' of the PC, typically something like 192.168.1.xxx (xxx being a number between 2 and 255)
When originating PC opens MC to LAN, it tells the port.
On the joining PC, in direct connect, type IP:port of originating game, see if that works.
Example: 192.168.1.15:25467
Sometimes the problem may be originating PC firewall. See if disabling it helps.

How would i disable the firewall
Depends on what software is used. If no third party security software is present, it would be Windows Defender.
