When I start up Sky Factory, it plays fine for about 3-5 minutes and then gets bombarded by lag spikes. Looking at the stats, it seems to be caused by a spike in sound usage. Also, when I go to change audio settings, It lags majorly to the point that I have to manually exit minecraft.

What I've tried:
Reinstalling Java, Drivers, and Sky Factory
Changing RAM allocation
Tinkered with in-game settings
Changed settings in NVIDIA Control Panel
Started new worlds
This is most likely due to something running in the background. For me, it was an anti-virus program.
Could it be because I had Avast put some programs to sleep?
Turning off Avast and Malwarebytes didn't seem to do much. Same goes for the sleeping programs
bump
You can try installing optifine and tune some of the settings, it really helps with lag spikes and lag in general. OptiFine
Specifically the OptiFine 1.12.2 HD U D1.
Tried that and tinkered with in game settings. Nothing
Managed to fix the problem by uninstalling Avast
