Okay, I have an older computer that runs on Linux great but can't stand windows because of its age. I will be upgrading eventually but until then it has a few hiccups from time to time but mostly a nice stable system. It's current hiccup is Minecraft.
I currently run the following system:
Linux 18.3 64-bit
Cinnamon 3.6.7
AMD Athlon dual core 4850b x2
I can run the latest Minecraft 1.12.2
But I cannot get the new launcher to run so I am still running Launcher 1.6.84-j
I do have JDK8 installed
I can run most resource packs without an issue, I currently have a love of the defined realism pack.
I tried running Forge so I could load up some mods that looked interesting. I don't know if it's the resource pack, the mod, the forge, the Linux, or the launcher.....but for some reason I cannot load the more bricks pack at all (it freezes up Minecraft but not my system) and the more swords pack will load up but not function. The recipes just don't work. I put the recipe in the grid but nothing craft-able appears in the box.
I can only imagine what the other packs I wanted to try would do to my system at this point.
Open to helpful suggestions.
