My old computer just recently had its hard drive corrupt so I had to get a new laptop. On my new laptop (the HP Pavilion) I re downloaded Minecraft but at first it wouldn't even load the launcher. I ran the compatibility troubleshooter and that seemed to resolve the problem, but now the title screen is just a big white box. I can hear the music in the background and I can hear the clicking sound when I click around, but i can't see anything. Because I just downloaded this computer, I don't have any mods or anything of the sorts. I have also tried uninstalling, reinstalling, and running a repair through the Minecraft setup wizard. I would really appreciate some help, Thanks!
I had this same issue, and just worked thru it. My issue was an outdated video card driver. I thought it was up to date, because the windows driver updater told me so. however, a search on the Nvidia website found an update. Installed the update, and now Minecraft is working again.
So try updating your video card drivers.
