I downloaded Minecraft 1.5.2 from funblocked.com on a school computer a few months ago and its been working.
Yesterday I downloaded the old version of the launcher java when I was trying to get a mod. I already loaded a temporary game in the new edition of minecraft.
I realized that I dont even need this for the mod. But now whenever I go back into 1.5.2 it says Minecraft has crashed.

The school computers are personal computers that you can take home. There is no rule against games, but you can only install a certain type of software, everything else is blocked.
I am not trying to get the launcher. The game Minecraft started crashing after I downloaded the launcher from minecraft.net.
Could this possibly be because the launcher is programmed to crash Minecraft downloaded from other cites or something?
In that case speak to your schools IT department about using the official launcher. No one here will help you bypass blocks the school have put in place .
Again, I already downloaded the official launcher, but I don't need it and I deleted it. I am just trying to fix Minecraft, which still keeps crashing every time. The reason why I was talking about the launcher is because Minecraft 1.5.2 just happened to start crashing right after I downloaded it.

ModeratorTry using the official launcher from minecraft.net and not from some third party site.
Also if the school has blocked games then respect their reasons and use the computers there for school work and not gaming.
