I have a laptop which works fine and has 4gb ram. All other games and apps work fine in my laptop but Minecraft is like 15 fps. I've tried ALL types of things like adjusting the laptop for best performance, setting minecraft's priority to high, allocating more ram for Java and Minecraft disc cleanup, etc. I've also changed Minecraft settings to the lowest AND I use optifine. But still Minecraft lags. So if anyone has any suggestions PLEASE help me.
I KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!! If you're using the current version 1.12.2 then what kinda works since I used to have a REALLY laggy computer just change the version via launcher or get the windows ten edition. Strangely, servers are less laggy then singleplayer(?) hmmmm...
Install Optifine. When it's correctly installed, when you first open Minecraft go to your Settings menu and then navigate to Video Settings and then to Animations. Turn off everything. I recommend keeping the Terrain animated option turned off, but if something else looks weird or funny you can slowly turn on the other options to see if Minecraft stays viable or not.
If you mouseover the buttons/button text you should get a popup tooltip explaining what the option does and what each option for it would mean. If it says something is faster, change it to that faster option. Collectively, this will also bump up your fps but not anywhere close to what turning off Terrain animated accomplishes.
Well I've found a solution for this. Read the instructions on this web page and follow them to increase fps. Wow, I had 20 fps at first and now I have about 80 fps!!! Anyways I thank you all for suggesting these things for increasing my fps.

Curse PremiumYou have installed Optifine, but you have also tweaked all its video settings to the lowest, correct?
Are you playing unmodded vanilla Minecraft? And you said that other games work fine?
Quote me if you're replying to my comment please.

Yes, all other games work fine on my pc but not Minecraft. I have no mods installed. I have also given Minecraft 2 GB of ram.
