Particularly in the Hypixel server, in most games my memory would hit 90% and above in just under 30-45 minutes of playtime, and thus start lagging the hell out. I usually game in longer sessions than that, so its an extreme inconvenience to restart the game every so often, especially how my laptop is near complete garbage, and takes maybe 5 minutes to launch the game. Keep in mind this is all with the default allocated memory of 1GB.
When I try to allocate more memory, say 2GB, the game starts lagging even more! It feels like the type of lags where chunks aren't loaded in yet, except it never ends. Mouse movement becomes chunky. No longer hit the memory cap so often but it lags even heavier. Does anyone have a solution for this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. No, getting a better computer is not an option. Thank you.
PS: I do use mods, 5zig and optifine, but I tried to run minecraft without them, default memory and 2GB.
