My friend and I will occasionally open up a new LAN world to play together on. We made some good progress on it this past week, and I ensured that he logged out first before I pressed Save & Quit to close out the world. Today I logged in to do some work on my own and found that several chunks in the vicinity of our operations have been scrambled or swapped somehow. I've attached some photos; especially egregious is one chunk that has just bisected our storage chests and relocated them some distance away. Upon opening the relocated chests I found that their contents had been deleted. This was obviously annoying. A similar chunk scrambling has happened to us in a previous world, making this the second time. Optifine is the only mod I use.
In my research I found that this problem can sometimes occur when a world was saved/shut down improperly and the game tries to load the chunks out of order. I know Optifine fiddles with the autosave function somewhat: is it possible that Optifine is to blame here? I'm not so much interested in fixing the current world (it's pretty new, and we can start a new one with relative ease) as I am in knowing how to avoid such occurrences in the future. I've now bumped into this issue twice, and I have a hunch that the LAN function combined with Optifine is the source of my problem. If possible I'd prefer not to cut Optifine out of the picture, but I'm open to suggestions. Might restoring the autosave to its default two-second refresh rate resolve the issue?
