I recently had to get a new Hard Drive for my PC and upon re-installing the game to my 'D' Drive, where I already had some older (now unobtainable) versions of Minecraft, I put them in the same location as the game directories 'versions' folder. When I run the game I found that the launcher wanted me to install the version I selected (1.12.2) no versions were listed and the game wanted to install itself into my 'C' Drive.
This isn't where I want the game to be, what can I do to relocate it? I have tried manually setting it in the launcher but the backslash I type automatically changes to a forward slash making the directory invalid, thus forcing the game to reinstall to my C Drive. I tried contacting Mojang support but apparently they don't deal with technical issues any more.
Anyone else experienced this problem or know of any way to fix it.
Thanks
