Randomly today when I went to start my game controls froze after a successful launch. I've tried it multiple times and it always seems to happen randomly within the first few seconds, though if I act fast enough the interface does work prior to controls freezing. I specify the controls freezing as the flash text and background images remain animated. Ive tried re-installing, using the old launcher, updating java, and updating my nvidia graphics and nothing seems to make a difference. I'll keep browsing and post back if I find any solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated, im sort of at a loss.
If it does not work after a restart of the computer, try the following.

Run a Scan, Clean anything it finds, restart the computer and then try the game again, you may need to do a local file reinstall (clearing .minecraft of everything but saves) after.

I found this, which worked for me. Opened the task manager, ended the Discord process, and like magic my menu was usable again.
