If yours is the 4GB version, RAM should be ok (you should check the utilization while Minecraft is running to be sure. Run in windowed mode, Ctrl-alt-del and go to task manager to see if the memory is maxed out)
If your computer has an integrated graphics card, higher graphics settings will slow the game down. Go to the graphics options in Minecraft and try setting Graphics: fast, try the different lighting modes, turn off vsync, turn down mipmap levels, turn down the Render Distance (this is a big one), and see if the VBOs option makes a difference.
Also, has the game ever run well for you in the past?
thank you for replying but I have tried all of that unfortunately and I have tried running It with both 4 and 6 G of ram and the game used to play fine for me but I switched my os to windows 10 from Linux now I cant seem to get it to work right everything else on my computer works just fine only minecraft is having a problem.
Your using an old computer. The chipset is from Q2, 2011. I doubt there are proper Win 10 drivers for it. You might be better off going back to the previous Windows version.
