Thankfully I had fixed the window problem not showing up, however now when I boot up minecraft and jump on a server it is super laggy. I've tried changing the settings like a friend suggested but I can't even play for five seconds without the screen turning white and saying "minecraft is not responding" and it constantly does this. I've tried boosting the ram, but it's still slow. Could someone please help me? I'm on a windows 7
That can be caused when you have bad graphics card drivers installed. (With the AMD Radeon HD 7610M for example, a friend of mine has this graphics card and has the same problem since he installed the new launcher of minecraft @ version 1.8 he had the problem with Sphax PureBDCraft 512x-256x.) Boosting the ram didn't help him at all. Some other reason for that it is that your using a HD Resource Pack.
I had the same problem several months ago when i was mainly using this animated HD Resource Pack, that even has animated armors. After around 2 minutes minecraft was "not responding". I had to kill the process with the task manager almost every time.
I think i also had that problem because i used to play minecraft on my mothers 8 yo laptop. Using Faithful 32x32 in combination with Optifine helped me a lot. Maybe you should try some "FPS Boost" packs, google is your friend.
Hopeful my tips were helpful. If nothing helps at all just call the support of your laptop manufacturer. They must help you when you're still in warranty timespan.
