(Sorry if this is in the wrong forum- I'm new here)
So it came to me that my very first Minecraft worlds are still on my desktop after my dad wiped it and put in a backup with everything in it. What I have is a new, updated launcher that runs modern Minecraft and my old launcher that runs 1.5.2 from when I installed it (3-16-2013). My dad wiped the computer somewhere in early 2014 incase that helps. But the problem here is that I can't access my old worlds on the old launcher because it won't connect to minecraft.net (yes, I disabled Kaspersky encryption scans). I can't access my old worlds on the new launcher incase that wasn't obvious. Is there a way to either transfer my old world (only one I really cared about) to the new launcher's saves and/or get the old launcher working again? And no, I can't access .minecraft in my Roaming folder for the old launcher, only the new one. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I'm Blake Jay (not my real name lol). My hobbies are art, Minecraft, Mario games, and Pokemon.
Try loading the worlds in a version close to the game version they were last used with. You can do so from either launcher.
No- unfortunately, I can't access the world I want on the old launcher. Other worlds are on the new launcher. When I try to boot up the old launcher, I type in my info but it says "Can't connect to minecraft.net"

Don't use the old launcher, there is no need to. Create a launch profile for an older game version in the new launcher. Set it to the last version you used the world in, then try starting it there. Then slowly increase the game version for that launch profile to see if it will open the world. If none of the versions open it, then the world is likely corrupt and you will need to take other steps to get it working.

Unfortunately, that won't work. The old launcher has the world I'm trying to access, but I can't use the launcher for it, nor open the files to access the "saves" folder since my .minecraft folder applies to the new launcher.

All world saves for either version would be in .minecraft, the launcher 'contains' no world files, if you don't have the save folder for the world you are trying to get to, then you do not have that world at all.

Alright, I see what you're saying. Unless there's a solution, it's sad I have to say good-bye to my first ever world. But thanks for helping. :')
