The Minecraft client keeps "freezing up", randomly. Sometimes, it happens at the Main Menu. Most of the time, ingame.
The most baffling part about this bug is that everything still moves! It's just that any and all input, whether with mouse or keyboard, seem to get disabled somehow. My keyboard and mouse work just fine. It's just that whenever the bug happens, the water still flows, the mobs still move about, the chunk updates still update, and so does the memory usage, but I am left with absolutely no input whatsoever.
Some additional notes that might help, however: I'm a builder. I always have the coords info pulled up (F3), and I use a lot of fill commands. Those render quite well, if only the client would let me finish typing! Also, maybe because my map is almost a gigabyte in size, but that shouldn't be a problem, right?
I don't see anyone else with the exact same bug as I have, which is why I posted here. Hope to find help regarding this. Thank you very much in advance!
Photo attached: Screenshot when it froze. Typing cursor still blinks. Water still flowing. Squid have apparently spawned as well, and are moving.
ADWCleaner is an utility to clean a PC which has potential malware/adware, which is a common cause for the problem you have. Download it here: https://toolslib.net/downloads/finish/1/
Run a Scan, Clean anything it finds, restart the computer and then try the game again, you may need to do one more reinstall (clearing .minecraft of everything but saves) after.
@worndownkeys All that did was waste my time. It didn't find anything, and it outright wasted me a good hour and a half, and it still didn't fix the issue.
I changed the JVM argument and made the -Xm1G into -Xm4G and it somewhat resolved it a bit. It doesn't freeze as much anymore, but it still does, occasionally.
Okay, first of all, my specs:
Intel Core i3-4170 3.7GHz
8GB DDR3 RAM
No GPU (Intel HD 4400)
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
Minecraft 1.12.2 (Vanilla; Unmodded)
Java Version 8 Update 161 (64-bit)
And now, the issue at hand:

If AWCleaner found nothing, but took over an hour to run the scan, then there is something wrong. See if the full malwarebytes program finds anything.
Nope. None, at all. Why does everyone think it's malware or such? Why does no one blame the Java runtime environment or the client itself?
Shut down discord.
