Yup. I keep dying in a loop because I spawn at the bottom of the world then fall to my death.
I'd like to point out that this is an issue I've never ever had before. I'm building a skyblocks world. I built the island, set the world spawn (0 75 0), then tested it by killing myself (/kill). I was astonished to notice I spawned at 0 0 0 and then died. This happened over and over regardless of how many times I reset the spawn at 0 75 0, or higher (0 150 0, etc.). It only works when I specifically set my personal spawn (/spawnpoint) at 0 75 0. If I sleep in a bed then move it, that's gone and its back to the same shenanigans. Spawning at 0 0 0 and dying in loop.
This is crap. My friends can't play on this world with me if it won't spawn them properly. The only way I see this working with these conditions is to specifically set up personal spawn points for each of them at 0 75 0, which will be funked up if they ever move their beds while playing. I don't know if I'll even be able to use commands like that when I move the world to the server. I don't know if I'll be buying a Realm, but I might. Most likely we're talking about a local vanilla server.
Any ideas? Thanks.
Minecraft 1.12.2 Java Edition (no mods) on Windows 10.
Figured it out. It was spawning me inside a 16x16 area and therefore off the island completely and for some reason at y-0. I used this command /gamerule spawnRadius 0 to ensure we spawn specifically on the bedrock block I placed the spawn at.
