I've been trying to get onto an older version of Minecraft in the most recent launcher, specifically 1.5.2. I really do enjoy the launcher, but many people, including myself, are having problems loading previous versions of the game through this application.
From what I have read and seen, the launcher still works similarly to the old one. It looks like it's installing 1.5.2, but for some odd reason, I get this error upon the game [almost] finishing its launch cycle.
Minecraft has crashed! ----------------------
Minecraft has stopped running because it encountered a problem; Failed to start game

Even with everything in the .minecraft folder checked and reviews to defaults, I cannot seem to get the game to launch,
Has anyone figured this out, yet... at all? This is bugging me because 1.5.2 was the very first version of the game I ever played and I wanted to go back to it. Please give me some insight on how I can fix this, I really do NOT want to revert back to the old runtime launcher.
