I keep getting the java heap space error after leaving more and more ram to minecraft. It ram fine with 1G of ram up until a few weeks ago, then I increased it to 2, it worked once, then 3 and it worked once. I can't keep increasing the amount because my computer only has 4G of ram. The following crash report is generated after every launch attempt.

Your going to have trouble playing that version of MC on that PC. If you have only 4G system RAM, you can only safely allocate 2G to MC. Never allocate more than half of the system RAM.
I would suggest installing 64 bit Java. It might help.
