Asking because after looking around a while, i couldn't find anything
Forge seems to have a "disable" button, when you open the mod list in the game menu. But as far as I can see, clicking it does nothing?
Is there a way to make it work? I'd love to be able to enable/disable my mods as I please but so far I can't find anything to do it... (aside from renaming or moving the .jar of my mods which can get tedious)
Nope. You can't do that yet. You can try using MultiMC, which is a Minecraft launcher that lets you enable and disable mods very easily though.
Nah, multiMC is no good for me
I mean, sure it sound ideal but it handle the instances like crap in my opinion:
it creates copies of your whole minecraft. So you have to have copies of your resources packs, saves, etc etc, scattered everywhere. it's completely dumb and messy.
Magic launcher did it better, by having a centralised folder and then subfolders when/if needed, but it won't work anymore
For that matter forge do it much better too, but not complete enough. With forge, you have the mod folder, and then inside you can create subfolders for each minecraft version, like 1.12, 1.10, whatever. Forge will use what's directly in the mod folder for all versions, then take only what's in a version folder for said version
Would be amazing if they did it to handle profiles and not just versions, but no dice yet (and from the forums, doesn't sound like they're interested in doing so)
guess you do miss a lot when you don't play for a long while >.>
