I had this problem two years ago, and still didn't find a solution for it.
I have both Windows 10 and Windows 8.1 installed on my laptop, when I play Minecraft on Windows 8.1, it works great with 60fps, default settings, on any version.
But things are different when I play on Windows 10.
For version 1.9 and above, including the latest 1.12.2, I got only 1fps, and it's totally unplayable.
For version 1.8.9 and lower, I got around 40fps, but it's still not as good if I were playing on Windows 8.1.
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4200U CPU @ 1.60GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.3GHz
I think this is because Minecraft doesn't recognize my graphic card on Windows 10, although I have set everything correctly, like run javaw.exe with high performance in the amd control panel, and I have read many threads and tried many solutions but they never work for me.
If any one knows how to fix this, please help me, thank you so much.
Yes it is indeed your issue, only you can fix it. MC is running on integrated graphics rather than dedicated. I don't have AMD graphics so I can't tell you how to change the AMD's settings, but there should be plenty of tutorials out there on the Googles.
