I'm having this problem where I open the launcher just fine, but as soon as I go to join a server, the screen doesn't fully load and then it freezes. It doesn't "crash" but it just has me sat there frozen. On the server logs it says I "leave" or "log out" but on my screen I am still sat there frozen. This happens on multiple servers and the game wont even let me move a single step. I've tried deleting minecraft all together, updating java, looking at the very vague crash report I get when I force close because there is no other way for me to leave it, and I have tried a could of other things that people online are saying to do. It's very frustrating and I don't know what else to do.
I downloaded the older version and it did work, but everyone is either a Steve or and Alex skin including myself. Will this ever change? Will I ever be able to go back to the newer launcher?

Use the old launcher.
I don't know what you mean by doing that. Is that something else to download?
