I was playing minecraft on 1.12 and then of course, stopped playing for a bit. When I came back and started Minecraft back up, it was stuck on "Not Responding" I turned off my computer a couple times but I couldn't fix it. The thing is, 1.8 works fine but 1.12 doesn't work. And it worked about 45 minutes before. What could've happened?
Oh, it seems that I have fixed the problem. The resource pack I was using seemed to glitch out the loading screen, but when I took it out, it started working again.

Use the old launcher.
That hasn't seemed to fix the problem.
1.11 Doesn't seem to work anymore either.
