I recently updated my Windows software and now when I open the Minecraft launcher, it opens but is in it’s loading state. After a moment it disappears before I am able to add my username. I am thinking it is a bug related to the update. So what should I do to fix it?
Before you updated the OS, did you make sure your PC was Win 10 compliant and all necessary drivers were available for Win 10?
I remember that the option to update popped up onto the pc suddenly so I allowed the updates to happen. The specific updates was a 2017-12 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64 based systems (KB4053577)and a 2017-12 Security Update for Adobe Flash Player for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64 based systems (KB4053577). My PC is Windows 10 compliant because according to System Information, it's OS name is Microsoft Windows 10 Home
Forget about that update, which is related to Flash and unlikely to be anything to do with this.
What version of Minecraft is it?
Get the latest driver for your graphics card from the manufacturer of the card, not from Microsoft. For example, if you have an Nvidia card, go to Nvidia,com.
We can also look at the error logs, but that depends what version of Minecraft we're talking about.
The version of Minecraft I use is 1.11.2 but the launcher gives me the option of choosing any of the versions. I updated my Intel(R) HD Graphics 615 driver just now by getting windows to automatically search the computer and the internet for the latest driver software. Doing that did not fix the problem. Did windows get the latest version from the manufacturer when doing the search, or will I have to go to the site for Intel to get the latest version from the manufacturer. And if updating the driver doesn't work, where do I find the error logs?
You should absolutely go to the makers website and download the latest driver from them; the Microsoft drivers are shite.
Otherwise, see below to give us more;
I tried downloading a new Intel Graphics driver from the Intel site but it said that the does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software. How do I find out what the minimum requirements are. And how will I get to the launcher settings if the launcher keeps crashing?
You said you were able to select versions, which means the launcher runs?
I posted a DxDiag here paste.ubuntu.com/26211467/
I was saying that I was able to select versions before the launcher began having issues. The issue is that it keeps crashing before allowing me to log in.
I tried it just now and it said this. Error: The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Obtain the appropriate driver from the computer's manufacturer. Setup will exit.
