My son has been playing Minecraft with no problems, and the game now crashes with the following error:
The game crashed whilst initializing game
Error: org.lwjgl.LWJGLException: Pixel format not accelerated
After reading through the Minecraft support website, it seems to be related to the Video drivers. I tried to update the video drivers through Microsoft Windows, but it says that my drivers are up-to-date. Have created a dxdiag.txt file at :
OK - so my brother-in-law came in for Christmas break and resolved the issue (which did not include link spamming Minecraft PC requirements like some knuckleheads in this forum).
He fixed it in about 15 minutes. Turns out Windows 10 had automatically updated my video driver to a generic windows driver, and he was able to download and install the one we needed. My son has been playing for several days now with no problems.
Hope this helps get others pointed in the right direction if they have a similar error.
Btw - he also mentioned that some older video cards can use Win 8 video drivers if Win10 drivers aren't available.
Best wishes and Merry Christmas!

Can anyone confirm that the problem is the video driver, and if so - where I can find updated drivers that will work?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Your computer does not meet Minecraft's system requirements https://help.mojang.com/customer/en/portal/articles/325948-minecraft-system-requirements
In what way does the PC not meet Minecraft System requirements? It's been running different versions of Minecraft for the last 2 years.
Read the article I posted the link to and compare them to your computer's specs.
So in other words - you don't know why it's no longer working and you didn't look at the info I posted? Thanks.
That it was working doesn't change the fact that your computer is obsolete, you just had luck and now your luck ended.
