Yesterday I went to play Minecraft with a friend, but notices something odd. I was getting 15-20fps in windows mode and 7-10fps in fullscreen mode. I wondered if it could be a problem with me Bitcoin mining, so I turned off the miner and saw the fps go to 60 straight away. The miner should only be mining with my 1030 so I checked the miner settings. It was only using the 1030. I then decided to press F3 and check which graphics card minecraft was using. It was using the 1030. No monitors are plugged in to the 1030 and the nVidia taskbar icon said javaw.exe was using the 960. It clearly wasn't since I should be getting stable FPS with my 960. I looked on the internet everywhere I could but found no way to set the graphics card minecraft should use.
These are the things I've tried:
I've read in many places that under the "3D settings" tab in the nVidia there is an option to select the preferred graphics processor, however after further reading, I discovered that this setting is only available on laptops and I have a desktop.
I have tried to look to see if java can be given an argument for which GPU to use but all the results are people with laptops not being able to use the nVidia chip they have.
I have looked in my BIOS and there are no settings for the cards (I read somewhere that the BIOS might have an option)
I have checked the nVidia control panel and can't find what I'm looking for
I really need to know how to change which card minecraft uses since it is unplayable as of now.
Thanks
