I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this question but I just made my account in order to ask this question. I just logged onto minecraft for the first time in a couple months because I felt like playing, it did an update, and I'm now playing on Java Edition, where I was previously on Windows 10 edition (Beta?). When I went to log onto my world, my main world was gone, however my other two worlds (My creative world and the copy of my world that my little brother uses) were there and in tact. I'm really the opposite of tech and computer savvy, so I don't know what happened, but I went into .minecraft > saves ; I found that my world was there, so I know it wasn't deleted by my little brother or anything. So, in case that didn't make much sense; Minecraft updated from Windows 10 version to Java Version, which caused my world to not be available in the minecraft interface, but the world is still saved in my computer. One thing to note is I picked up a tip that if you start a new world with the same name as an old world, it will open the old world at the point which it was last saved, so I tried it. It started the world, and to my surprise my world came up, but my inventory is empty (All of my valuable stuff was in my inventory) and it seems like I lost some progress, and that's the most frustrating thing for me. I may as well start over with a new world. If anyone can help me figure out how to fix this, get my Windows 10 version back with my world save, that would be greatly appreciated. I also have a side question; what's with all the different versions of minecraft? They came out with Windows 10 edition and then java edition. What is the reason for this and which is the better one to use? Thanks in advance for any help.
