Hello Minecraft Forums! I've been having a sizable issue with Minecraft lately- it doesn't work. But I won't leave you with just that.
Here's the play-by-play; I open up Minecraft from my start screen, and it opens fine. I press the play button on 1.12.2, and the screen with the MOJANG logo pops up. That's where it stops indefinitely. When I have to close it manually, the error message I get is the title of this forum: Java(TM) Platform SE Binary is not responding.
After a couple hours of scouring the internet, I have tried a number of things that have all failed:
-Running as an administrator
-Uninstalling and reinstalling Minecraft and the Installer
-Using the old version of the installer on the Mojang website
-Updating Java, I have the latest version, 8.0.151
-Running a Malware scan, and deleting all programs that would interfere. I removed the dreaded McAfee long ago
So thats where I am right now. I really don't know what's wrong with the program. Here are some other interesting pieces of info though:
-When I have task manager open I see that when I press play the CPU usage spikes to 100% becasue the Java(TM) Platform SE Binary is using an absurd amount of it.
-These problems didn't start until after I downloaded Project64 and some Rom Hacks, so I may have gotten some kind of bad software that evaded detection
UPDATE
As I was writing this, my Minecraft decided to start working again for who knows what reason.
But the error log listed something suspicious:
