Before today everything was fine. I tried running minecraft on a singleplayer world and the screen was stuck at a frozen, loading world building terrain screen for about a minute. After the minute is over the loading world text goes away leaving only a building terrain screen.This problem remains consistent after 10 minutes of waiting.
The same problem exists when trying to connect to a server (which there is a visible connection to) except for there is a frozen screen saying loading terrain. This screen will also remain for 10 minutes or more without changing.
The only way to close the game after triggering this is to open task manager and end the java application. The screen does not say (not responding) at the top or fade white. Nor does it give the option to close the application or wait for a solution. I've already tried deleting all my minecraft files and reinstalling the game, reinstalling java, reinstalling my gpu driver and have reset both the game and computer multiple times. The problem remains the same.

After reinstalling minecraft again, I tried using the old launcher and everything works fine.
I have yet to see if the new launcher will work.
Edit:
After re-downloading the new launcher, minecraft continues with the glitches.
The old launcher requires you to log in every time because you'd have played on a newer launcher.
