The error mentions rendering screen, I would think that means something in the graphics system is wonky. Does it do this right away or after playing a while?

Does anyone know why is happens?
The error mentions rendering screen, I would think that means something in the graphics system is wonky. Does it do this right away or after playing a while?
I would start by updating the driver for your Radeon, go to the ATI site and use their auto-detect tool to get the latest drivers. Here's the link http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/auto-detect-tool
If that doesn't help, then you can always try turning off VBOs, it might not apply in this case, but it's something to try.
