Hello! I have a really annoying problem that I have had for a year or two now. It's come to drive me nuts. Whenever I join any multiplayer server my render distance is extremely limited. Of course, I can walk and load those chunks in, but I have to be annoyingly close. This is very, very annoying. I run optifine w/ shaders, but I have a hard time thinking that's the problem. I have also tried running with no optifine and with other versions, but to no avail. The problem doesn't happen in single player, either. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling the launcher, with no success. Anything helps. Thanks for helping out!
That is usually the server itself. As our clients can be set to 32 (Optifine wise), A server can set its own limit to prevent lag for the server. However, it can also be a problem with internet connection. That the speed between you and the server is too far, too weak. But if that is the case it would still load fully.
Perhaps the servers you are using has a very high limit on rendering the world to prevent lag?
