I don't have java, optifine, or anything installed, and yesterday I was able to go on my friend's server. Today, he's on his server, mining, and it says the server is offline. My other friend tried to get in, and he could. I'm using the same version, and when I hover over the green bars that show your ping, it says "client out of date", even though I haven't changed the version. I uninstalled Minecraft, re-downloaded it, restarted my computer, and nothing happened. His server is an aternos server too. I don't really know how to fix this, could someone help? It's a windows pc.
What I got is that you try to join your friends minecraft server but:
- Yesterday it worked fine, no changes was made
- You tried to uninstall Minecraft and installed once again.
- But an error "Client out of date" pops up.
Well, as you say the connection shows fine, it knows the server is there. So that is no problem. But!
Client is out of date, Well since it is your friend you should ask if he made any changes to the server himself? Perhaps he has updated the server and forgot to give such information. Server error like those never usually lie, if your friend is uncontactable, you should try to play around with the minecraft version a little. It never hurts a try!
Well, the only advice I can give you then carefully ask your friend to look over everything correctly. Ask your friend what "Exact" version he is using. Since you say he can go on it

Explain a little clearer.
I did everything I could changing the versions, and my friend made no changes.
Well, the only advice I can give you then carefully ask your friend to look over everything correctly. Ask your friend what "Exact" version he is using. Since you say he can go on it
He says the server is the exact version that I'm using; 1.12.2
He downloaded the world, and re-made the server, but it just doesn't work.
