hello! i run minecraft on linux and today i had to go afk repeatedly and eventually it timed out. about when that happened, the wifi on my computer for whatever reason went off and i had to restart minecraft. but, whenever i attempt to load the launcher, i get this error:
i havent seen anyone with this specific error on linux yet. i have optifine, so i wasn't too sure if im putting this in the correct place (ill assume i am though.)
apparently a new version of optifine came out recently, so i have no idea whatsoever if that plays into this. im really nervous to delete anything, as it took me and my brother about an an hour and a half to actually get minecraft working. ive checked all the properties on the launcher folders too, and they all seem to have permission. any help?
ok, i tried it, and the files will not delete, because it's a read only file. me and my brother have attempted to troubleshoot it for about half an hour, and no such luck; the terminal keeps crashing. anybody have any ideas?
It seems that it would work, but the terminal keeps crashing. (why does it hate me hhh) its been crashing only with stuff to do with minecraft so i honestly have no idea why it's happening, other than it not having the power to do what its been told, though i dont know.
sudo: unable to open /var/lib/sudo/james/8: No such file or directory
mv: cannot move ‘.minecraft’ to ‘sausages’: Read-only file system
i think the read only file system thing is the big issue but something goes wrong every time we tried to change it (terminal crashing, insufficent permission, ect.)
(also thank you for helping me troubleshoot this for this long hhh)

would that include the launcher.jar and launcher.pack.lmza files or not? if so, are there any really specific files i should back up?
