I am getting an average of 17 fps. Doesn't seem to matter the version. I've tried 1.8 and 1.12. This might be a tough one to solve. I've been trying to figure out this problem for hours.
Anyway, this is a new laptop that I bought today.
Specs:
Asus AMD Quad core
1.8 Ghz
8 GB ram
Radeon R2 Graphics
Windows 10 OS
Things I've tried:
- Uninstalled and reinstalled Java 8 (no difference)
- Allocating 1gb and then 2gb to Minecraft (no difference)
- Installed Optifine and ran it through the launcher. (only about 5 fps boost)
- Setting compatibility to windows 8 (ran slower)
Additional information:
- F3 confirms it's using my gpu.
- When the Mojang logo shows upon load, just before the game launches it shows (not responding) for about 5 seconds but still loads the menu after.
To my knowledge I should be able to run Skyrim for instance at 60fps, and the windows 10 version of MC is running at at least 60fps so I am thinking the issue lies with Java somehow.
I had a crappier Mac with an older version of Radeon that ran it at a steady 55 fps, so I'm a little exasperated here. Hopefully someone has come across the same thing and can get me sorted!
