Hello, and thank you for any and all assistance in advance!
I finally picked the game back up after a few month hiatus and I found to my dismay I'm getting "Failed to login: The authentication servers are currently down for maintenance." Yet Mojang's twitter and support site indicate no problems. None of my friends, who are coming off similar hiatuses, are having this problem, which has persisted for several days now.
Disabling my antivirus and firewall make no difference.
My account is several years old and has a valid license.
I've updated my Java installation to latest version.
Reinstalled the Minecraft client.
I am using the same computer to play Minecraft I did a few months ago.
OS is Windows 10, came with the computer, which I've had for a little over a year now.
I do have a 1.10.2 Forge account (for 1.10.2 Pixelmon), but it is not selected, 1.12.2 - Latest Release is selected.
I can log into offline servers.
I do not have a server hosted on my computer.
Once again, thank you very much for any help with this problem!
This problem is still occurring and to my dismay, Majong's "Support" turns out not to be hardly anything. Again, any and all assistance is greatly appreciated.
Trend Micro HijackThis is a utility that is used to collect diagnostic reports of your computer to help narrow down an issue you may be having. Download: https://sourceforge.net/projects/hjt/files/2.0.5%20beta/HijackThis.exe/download
Run the program, choose "I accept", then "Do a scan and save a log file". After a while a text file will open. Copy everything, put the log on http://paste.ubuntu.com and give us the link.

My apologies, I forgot that this forum doesn't send an e-mail to remind me of a post.

ModeratorKaspersky is known to cause issues. The pinned faq links to this page which lists incompatible software https://minecraftirc.net/support-articles/known-incompatible-software/
Causes login and multiplayer connectivity problems.
If you are using Kaspersky Internet Security and cannot connect to Mojang’s servers, turn off Encrypted Connections Scan by following this guide.
If the above fix does not work, you will need to uninstall Kaspersky Internet Security.
Uninstall Tool here
That was it! I took it from "always scan encrypted connections" to "scan encrypted connections upon request from protection components."
Thank you!
