Do you have a laptop? Any other programs open when it happens? Any outdated graphics drivers, or outdated windows updates? Maybe your Anti-Virus is causing a conflict (this is contradicted in the list, but if turning it off doesn't fix it then try the list option about it)
This seems like a problem with the PC not Minecraft, I would do a few things:
1) Update Java
2) Make sure Windows is on the latest version
3) Get "CCleaner" and run it to get rid of anything like clutter, it will speed up the PC, and save storage
4) Run an Anti-Virus, AVG, SuperAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes, you may have a virus.
I would also recommend running DxDiag.exe (Windows + R, then type DxDiag.exe, then save it to a file, and post it on here, that way we can see your PC's specs and see if its a pc issue), also try reinstalling Minecraft, all of this is assuming you are on windows, if not then I am not sure about the problem. Also try telling us the MC version you are using, and the launch settings (ram, etc)

Ever since I updated my Firefox, Minecraft always shuts down my PC. This has been happening 4 times and I don't even want to go back to Minecraft.
So please, if anyone has any idea, please tell me.
