if you are on a server make sure you use a command to shut it down and not just exit out of the console. If your on singleplayer make sure you dont force quit minecraft. You might need to create a new minecraft world
Similar problem here... With the difference that I was in 1.8.9 (just because I didn't like the updates since then and didn't want more and more different biomes...) So I travelled by minecart to another part of my world to get some wood. But the minecart stoped in an unusual position at a wall were there shouldn't be one... I couldn't and still can't believe it but I thought that there might be a resetet chunk... Because it was underground I had to go all the way back and walk to the place on surface and as I got there I realized that it was true...
I have this Minecraft world since about 5-6 years now and this never happend to me in any world (totally I'm playing Minecraft for over 7 years now).
Why does this happen? Will it happen over and over again when I keep on playing? Will it happen again even when I load an older version of the world? If it helps: I never used mods, newer versions, mcedit or something like this for this world.
Never heard about this problem, so don't blame me for not knowing older solutions to it for this old minecraft version...
this will happen if you are in 1.12 and open a earlir version world i think
Can't be just that, I never launched Minecraft 1.12. And I think it's more likely to be the other way round. So if you enter a newer world with an older version it gets corrupted (otherwise the update from 1.11 to 1.12 would be problematic too and this is not the purpose of an update).
So, I've been playing this world in 1.12.1 for a little while and I've had no problems with it so far.
However, today when I opened the world, I found corrupted chunks in my world.
I've had this issue before on previous versions of Minecraft but have never been able to fix it.
I've tried MCEdit and other similar programs to fix it, but it doesn't seem to help.
I'm wondering if anyone knows a way to fix this so I can actually play Minecraft without the world corrupting.
Please respond if you know a way, thanks.

WorldPainter can actuallt delete chunks much like MCEdit, so it should work. Then you can force-reload those chunks by simply exploring them.
I just took the Minecraft Noob test! Check out what I scored. Think you can beat me?!

Don't click this link, HE is haunting it...
I'm on single player and I have done that twice while playing Minecraft by accident.
So I'll have to delete it? That's a shame, but I guess I'll be a bit more careful to not force quit it.
I just hope it doesn't corrupt again.
