I've got Version 1.10.2 and the resolution doesn't change when I go into Fullscreen mode. My system resolution is 1920X1080, but full screen mode in MC looks like I just made the window bigger. Now in the past I haven't had any problems with resolution, so I'm stuck. Is there any way to force MC to adopt the system resolution while in fullscreen mode? When I use OptiFine to adjust the resolution, it works on lower resolutions like 640X480, but not on higher resolutions like 1600X900 or 1920X1080. In short, OptiFine can make the resolution worse, but not better lol. It's like MC can't figure out that my display resolution is 1080P,
So any suggestions guys? Oh, and I have a Nvidia 1080, if that helps. Thanks!

I have had this problem many times and the only solution I have found is to go into your profile and switch on the resolution switch (it comes off randomly). You can then hit the fullscreen button next to the x when minecraft loads and it will go to fullscreen. If you want the total fullscreen (the window is the only thing you see) you can hit F11.

Remember those versions that minecraft pranked us with? Specifically:
Minecraft 2.0
Minecraft 1.VR-Pre1
Snapshot 15w14a
Those are still downloadable! Watch this video for 2.0:
To download the other ones you need to make a folder in the versions folder for minecraft and put the client and JSON file for the versions in there. They all need to be named the same aside from file extensions. Once you do that, you will be able to choose that version when making a new profile with the minecraft launcher.
What do you mean by "go into your profile and switch on the resolution switch"? Are you talking about the launcher profile and the resolution option there? I've already tried setting it to 1920X1080 and all that does is make the windowed mode bigger, the image quality doesn't change.

Update: I've solved the problem. It was related to the GUI scale and changing it from Auto to Normal fixed it. Thanks!
