Hello, I have a problem with my Minecraft. It's vanilla, updated, and there are two main issues: Some blocks won't drop, others will and /gamerule doesn't seem to affect the world.
These are the fixes I've tried regarding no tiledrops:
1. Toggled doTiledrops to true.
2. Made sure i'm holding a pickaxe and not using bare hands
3. Remade world multiple times.
4. Reinstalled Minecraft.
I can only mine dirt. I can't collect iron or any special tiles and needless to say that's really going to interfere.
Second issue: when I try to set rules such as "/gamerule doMobSpawning false" the game says the rule is updated but mobs still spawn. I'm very careful to ensure I've used correct case and spelling. Mobs still spawn.

I'd recommend updating Java and trying MultiMC, installing a Minecraft version thru it has caused no issues whatsoever for me.

Updating Java did the trick. Tiles are now dropping loot.
